Eritrean community for integration in Cantons Schaffhausen

We are establishing Eritrean community for integration in Cantons Schaffhausen as a socio-cultural association that would enable us to come together physically to support and engage with each other in furtherance of our common goal for meaning full integration in Switzerland. As our Eritrean community in diaspora often face unique challenges related to identity, integration, status, language and cultural preservation, our association can play a crucial role in supporting in addressing these issues. It can offer language classes to ensure that the diaspora community’s local language is passed down to future generations. We can create resources like books, websites, and apps to facilitate language learning. We have the capacity to organize cultural events, sport competitions, festivals and workshops to help diaspora members to maintain our cultural traditions and pass them to younger generations and establish cultural centers to showcase the history, art, and tradition of the diaspora community. We can provide support services for newcomers, including help with finding housing, employment, and navigating legal and immigration processes. We will look way for legal aid and information regarding training, job, and other legal matters and advocate for immigration policies and support those facing legal challenges. We may organize programs or workshops to help our diaspora members integrate to the Swiss society. We can offer counseling or support groups for Eritrean diaspora members who may be experiencing stress, isolation, or discrimination, and foster a sense of belonging and community through social gatherings and events. Building bridges between our diaspora community and the host country is core objective of the association. We can encourage diaspora members to engage in community service and volunteer activities to give back to our host communities. We can advocate for the rights and interests of the diaspora community both within the host country and encourage our members to participate in local politics.
